About Dr. Divya Ahuja

Dr Divya Ahuja, got motivated and interested in reconstructive surgery from his training days as a postgraduate.

Seeing surgeries is one thing and being able to perform them properly is another – that is what he learnt from his training days. Extensive training, 15 years of experience working as an active surgical team member at Mangal Anand Hospital, handling patients with various Orthopedic issues simple or complex, has come up as a skilled surgeon and compassionate human being. He is loved and respected by his peers. As part of the Center for Limb Lengthening & reconstruction, Mumbai team, he has helped train numerous Orthopedic Surgeons in Ilizarov techniques and reconstructive Orthopedic surgeries. 

He has been a faculty at various Ilizarov training, Deformity Principles training, Six-axis training including Deftfix, Ortho-SUV & Litos Hexapod courses throughout India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. He has been a faculty/speaker at various Orthopedic for a & national conferences – IOACON, BOS, ASAMCON over the years.

Educational Background

After finishing his MBBS from Govt. Medical College, Trivandrum, Kerala, Dr Divya worked for a year at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi as a junior resident in Orthopedics.

Even though working there as a junior resident, he is remembered as one of the most efficient residents there. The quest for Orthopedics began and he did his DNB in Orthopedics from Sir H.N. Hospital & Research Center, Mumbai, under the guidance of Dr LN Vora.

A fellowship in reconstructive orthopedics followed at the Center for Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction, Mumbai under Dr Mangal Parihar. During his fellowship and the years following that Dr Divya has received extensive training in the limb reconstruction, deformity correction using various methods and fixator systems including the new six-axis correction systems – Ortho-SUV &Hexapod, besides dealing with trauma and difficult bone infections.

He is well versed with software assisted deformity planning & correction using Traumacad, Osirix, Horos, Ortho-SUV & Hexapod software. He has been a part of development & testing teams of Deftfix – the new Pitkar six-axis device, Tabplan3D – a 3D planning software which makes 3D images from 2D xrays and then doing the deformity correction planning and templating.

Work Experience

At present working as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at the Center for Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction, Mangal Anand Hospital, Chembur, Mumbai, also, involved in various ongoing studies of Treatment of Recalcitrant Nonunions, High Tibial Osteotomy, Elbow Arthrolysis and Deformity correction using six-axis systems at the Center for Limb Lengthening & Reconstruction.
